2007 Bourbon Mash Whiskey
It’s here, it’s here! Napa Valley Distillery is proud to announce the release of our very first Whiskey spirit!
The Spirit of Napa
Born in the Midwest, raised in the Napa Valley.
Howdy partner, let’s get a few things straight here. You may be wondering why we are calling our new Whiskey a 2007 Bourbon Mash Whiskey. Well, here you go.
1. Vintage: Our Whiskey was distilled in 2007. Though the vintage does not affect spirits as significantly as it does wine, it reiterates that this Whiskey has been aging in Oak Barrels for 8 years which is very, very, very important for Whiskey. Longer barrel aging deepens the complexity and adds those seductive vanilla and baking spice flavors. Yee-haw!
2. Bourbon Mash describes the mash bill (or grain recipe). It means that the grain recipe for our Whiskey is that of a Bourbon (more than 51% corn); and in fact our Whiskey’s mash bill is 70% corn, 27% barley, and 3% rye. The high corn content makes this Whiskey exceptionally silky and smooth.
3. Fancy Finish: Napa Valley Port Barrel Finish refers to the 6 months that our already enchanting Whiskey spent “finishing” in an ex-Napa Valley Port Barrel. Finishing is a term used to describe the process of flavoring a spirit in a barrel that was once used to age a different spirit or wine – Port, Sherry, and Bourbon barrels are the most popular worldwide. We chose ex-Napa Valley Port barrels because they introduce a subtle, yet rich, dried fruit, caramel, and chocolate characteristic to the Whiskey.
Though our 2007 Bourbon Mash Whiskey is the rootin’est-tootin’est Whiskey west of the Mississippi it is in very limited supply. Fortunately, as brilliant and beautiful Distinguished Bar Club Members you have first dibs. So reorder as soon as possible, cuz’ once it’s gone, it’s gone.
