Inna Shrub - Flamme Tomato Shrub
Inna's tomato shrub works wonderfully in cocktails that tread the line between sweet and savory, and pairs especially well with mezcal, tequila, bourbon, and beer.
Wondering what's the difference between the flamme TOMATO shrub and the cherokee purple TOMATO shrub? The flamme is more fruity, more bright, with tropical notes. The cherokee purple is more savory, more deep, with a classic heirloom tomato flavor.
A hot summer day calls for micheladas! Here’s Inna's recipe:
- Wipe the rim of a pint glass with a lime wedge, dip into a coarse salt/chili mix
- into the glass: ice, 1 oz tomato shrub, 3 dashes hot sauce (Cholula / Tapatio), 3 dashes worcestershire sauce, some of that salt/chili mix, and a squeeze of lime. Mix it up.
- add a very cold Mexican lager (Pacifico), stir. Sprinkle MORE salt/chili mix on top (ok, we like it spicy). And enjoy!!
