Bitter End - Chesapeake Bay Bitters
With bay leaf, black pepper, chile, allspice, ginger, and nutmeg in the mix we like to think of these Chesapeake Bay bitters as your behind-the-bar version of Old Bay seasoning.
Just a couple of dashes adds a smoky depth that elevates your favorite light drinks to a whole new level.
Pre-Prohibition Bay Martini
2 ounces Genever (e.g. Bols)
1 ounce dry vermouth (Vya or Imbue are very nice)
The Bitter End Chesapeake Bay Bitters
1 fresh bay leaf
Add the gin and vermouth to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir for at least 45 seconds. Add 3 drops of Bay bitters to a chilled cocktail glass or coupe. Strain the gin/vermouth into the glass. Top with a bay leaf.
